The Board of Trustees understand many of you are going through significant disruption as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. As you may know, our industry – which means you, your family, and our contributing employers – have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 national emergency crisis and the closure of our hotels and casinos.
Many of our members are still out of work because their contributing employer remains closed or is open only at reduced capacity. As we work through these uncertain times, the Fund is here to provide the support and benefits that you and your family need.
ELIGIBILITY EXTENDED THROUGH OCTOBER 31, 2020
What this Means For You
Previously, participants that were laid off, terminated, or who would have otherwise lost eligibility as a result of the COVID-19 national emergency, had their health coverage extended through August 31, 2020. We are pleased to announce the health coverage for these participants (who would have otherwise lost eligibility as a result of the COVID-19 national emergency) has been further extended through October 31, 2020.
You will not need to make self-payments during this time; your current medical, dental, and vision coverage will continue automatically. Your eligible dependents will continue to be covered, too.
REDUCED COBRA PREMIUM FOR ELIGIBILITY AFTER OCTOBER 31, 2020
COBRA Continuation Coverage
If you remain ineligible for coverage after October 31, 2020, as a result of reduced work hours, being laid off or terminated, you and any enrolled dependents are eligible to continue your current medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage under COBRA.
Usually, you must pay the full cost of COBRA continuation coverage. In order to provide additional support during this time, the Trustees have reduced cost for the first two months of COBRA coverage. After the first two months, you must pay the full cost of COBRA coverage. See the table on the following page for the COBRA self-pay rates.

To have COBRA continuation coverage, you must elect coverage within 60 days of losing your eligibility. Zenith American Solutions will notify you in writing when you lose eligibility for coverage under the Fund. Watch your mail for this notification if you are considering enrolling in COBRA continuation coverage.
If you start working again for a contributing employer, you can end your COBRA continuation coverage and re-enroll for coverage under the Fund.
